Coaching Philosophy
We're an open club, keen to help the novice and further the career of the more experienced triathlete as far as can. We also have links to personal tri-coaches and trainers you can approach once you're ready to fly alone.
Our training sessions will work on your technique, as well as introduce you to a friendly bunch of people to train with.

Introducing our Coaches
-
Nicola Hinton
Nicola joined Salisbury Tri Club in 2008 and has been part of the coaching team since 2010. Indeed, until recently Nicola was Head Coach, but has unfortunately stepped down.
Apart from being a Level 3 BTF Coach, Nicola is qualified to coach Paratriathletes and open water swimming.
Nicola has raced most of the triathlon distances and will happily share tips and advice with novices and experts. -
Sarah Kemp
Sarah has been a coach with the Salisbury Tri Club since 2011 and is a BTF Level 2 Coach. This is backed up with an MSc in Sports Science. Like Nicola, Sarah is qualified to coach Paratriathletes.
When racing, Sarah specialises in the Sprint and Olympic Triathlon distances. In 2012 Sarah qualified for GB Age Group representation at ITU Auckland.
Don't let the boys in the club fool you, in a bike race Sarah will beat most of them hands down! -
Adam Herridge
Adam has been part of the Salisbury Tri Coaching team since 2011. He is a BTF qualified Level 2 Coach and a qualified Remedial Massage Therapist.
Although you'll often see Adam coaching poolside, his real passion is cycling. Adam introduced the club's King of the Mountains competition - now an annual fixture. In 2013 Adam will be introducing Bike Time Trials for club members too!
Finally, Adam also runs our Bike Maintenance courses. -
Nigel Peterson
Nigel joined the coaching team in 2011 and is a qualified Level 1 Coach.
Nigel has competed in over 40 multi-sport events, mostly at Sprint and Olympic distance. He is just back from the Abu Dhabi International Triathlon. He hasn't stopped grinning since.
Nigel contributes, humour, enthusiasm and the steadying hand of life experience to the club. -
Rithy Hy
Rithy joined the coaching team in 2011 and is a qualified Level 1 Coach.
Running is without doubt Rithy's specialism. If you ever find yourself racing Rithy, make sure you put in a good bike leg.
Its really only when Rithy get's off the bike that the hunt begins.
Good luck. -
Emma Ekins
Emma is the newest member of our coaching team. She has just qualified as a Level 1 Coach and is looking forward to helping us all be the best we can!
-
You?
We're always looking for talented coaches to train our members.
We have funds available to keep you moving up through BTF qualifications or to get you started with a Level 1 qualification.
If you are already a BTF qualified coach, or think you have what it takes, please get in touch. (secretary@salisburytriclub.co.uk)
